Soprano Kemper H.L. Florin cultivates a wide-ranging career performing opera, musical theatre and concert work with equal enthusiasm. She has performed with opera companies throughout the U.S. including the Ohio Light Opera Company, Opera Birmingham, Opera New Jersey, and Concert Operetta Theatre. On the musical theatre stage she has worked with companies including Walnut Street Theatre, Media Theatre, the Ritz Theatre and New Candlelight Dinner Theatre. Kemper has performed solo works at the Kimmel Center and at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall and has been a featured soloist for groups including Philadelphia’s Vox Ama Deus, Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
Recording releases include an Ohio Light Opera recording of The Gondoliers, featuring Kemper as Gianetta with Albany Records and Dido and Aeneas featuring Ms. Florin as the Second Witch.
Ms. Florin holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2003) and Eastman School of Music (2005). She has received awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the New York Oratorio Society and the Liederkranz Foundation of New York. Kemper is the School Director of the Music Training Center in Ardmore, PA.
