Lyric tenor Dennis Kalup is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Voice Performance. He has also studied abroad in Graz, Austria. He is most at home singing classical repertoire, specializing in Oratorio and Early Music interpretations.
Previous roles include Tamino in Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Orfeo in Haydn's Orfeo et Euridice, and Acis in Handel's Acis and Galatea. Oratorio roles include the Evangelist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Tenor soloist in Handel's Messiah and Haydn's Creation, as well as the title role in Handel's Jeptha.
Mr. Kalup currently performs as a featured soloist as well as in the ensemble with the Ama Deus Ensemble, Vox Renaissance Consort, the Choir of First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, and the Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia.
Most recently he appeared as soloist in Vivaldi's Magnificat. He also appeared as the First Sailor in the staged production and recording of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with the Ama Deus Ensemble.
