from the Maestro

by Valentin Radu, Artistic Director & Conductor
In this our Anniversary Season 30, we continue our tradition of excellence and bring you another fabulous selection of extraordinary concerts by the three VoxAmaDeus performing groups:
  • Vox Renaissance Consort returns with its traditional Renaissance Noël concerts and brings you back in time to the glory of Old Europe, with lush costumes and period instruments, and heavenly music of Italian, English and German masters, as well as traditional carols.

  • Ama Deus Ensemble will enchant you with the magic of Mozart in October (with yours truly conducting and playing on the Bösendorfer Imperial Grand!), the traditional December Messiahs on Baroque instruments, Bach’s monumental B-Minor Mass on Good Friday and, for our ever-popular January concert, now in its sixth edition, an evening of Gershwin greatest hits, with Kevin Deas and Julie-Ann Green as Porgy and Bess, and featuring renowned British piano virtuoso Peter Donohoe, back by popular demand!

  • Camerata Ama Deus brings you three exciting programs (spiced with Maestro’s “live notes”): Bach in September (with yours truly—again—on the Bösendorfer Concert Grand), Vivaldi in November, and an exciting mix of German, French and Venetian Baroque masters in March. And, to crown this anniversary season, a first-ever appearance by the Camerata Ama Deus at the Barnes Foundation in May! (Barnes concert tickets at barnesfoundation.org).

Finally, join us for two intimate concerts in February and March featuring Maestro & Guests, which will round out this anniversary season!

Mark your calendars and be a part of our exciting Anniversary Season 30!
